What else should I know about Dr. Mathews ?
His background is further differentiated in that he has also been involved with executing clinical trials and can translate the nuances of clinical data with various classes of medications. He will take the time to review risks, benefits, and alternatives of newer and traditional treatments. By the same token, he does not believe that a single pill will cure all your problems. He will, however, spend the time to talk through the scenarios where medications may be of benefit in alleviating certain symptoms.
Dr. Mathews has also worked in various director roles (hospital and corporate) working with senior executives. He is familiar with working in large project matrix environments with US and international based teams . He can relate to the stresses of never-ending emails, constant meetings, frequent travel, and trying to find a reasonable work-life balance. He can also appreciate the challenges of being a father, a brother, a son, and caring husband. He values the tremendous role that homemakers and caretakers play in a family.
Dr. Mathews strives to always provide a good bedside manner to develop a positive and collaborative experience for those under his care. He is conservative when it comes to prescribing medications and believes in treating his patient as a unique individual and not as a DSM V diagnosis. He is comfortable working with patients from varying backgrounds and “all walks of life."
Dr. Mathews prides himself in being an advocate for his patients.
